GENERAL INFORMATION

P.E. Credit

Students must participate in 65 hours of practice or competition to be eligible for the Physical Education credit. Rigby High School will allow for your swimmer to receive a maximum of 2 PE credits for Swim Team participation.

The grade will be listed as a P for passing for those students who reach 65 hours. Students who do not reach this number will not have anything listed on their transcript.

A grade listing of P does not count against you at the college level. Historically it has, however in conference with multiple University admissions offices, this rule has changed, and will not hurt your chances at scholarships or college admittance.

eligibility

1. Students must have passed 4 out of 5 classes in the Spring trimester to be eligible to participate in fall sports. (If your student takes Seminary in the spring, they must pass all classes).
   
2. During the season students must be passing all classes including Advisory to participate in competition.
3. Mondays are grade check days. When the first F grade is receive your swimmer will be on warning, and can still swim at the meet. However any further weeks of failing, the student may only practice until they are passing their class.
4. Eligibility rule also applies to those receiving no credit due to absences. You will not compete period if you are receive no credit in any class.

They are student athletes - and their studies come first. As much as I want them to compete, I want them to graduate more.

These point rules may change during invitational meets. Generally more points are earned during non-dual meets.
